Puppy collar

Details:
The Puppy Collar is the smallest and lightest among Galgina collars. It is designed to help puppies get used to wearing a collar and to teach them how to walk on a leash. You can start using it as soon as your puppy arrives at their new home. The puppy collar is 2,5 cm wide, and the size is pre-determined based on the breed, so no measurements are needed when ordering. The collar is adjustable and will fit most puppies until they are fully grown.
Advantages of the Puppy collar:
- it has no tightening part, making it comfortable for the puppy to get used to wearing it and for leash training
- compared to very small martingale collars, it has a wider adjustment range and is usable for a longer time
- it contains no plastic parts
- it does not unfasten
- it is safe to use even when the puppy is unsupervised
- the metal components are minimalist and lightweight
Available sizes:
- Whippet: adjustment range between 20 and 33 cm – shown in the photos above
- Italian Greyhound: adjustment range between 16 and 27 cm
Materials and designs
The nylon core is completely covered in water-repellent fabric, creating a compact collar that is easy to maintain and dries quickly. The water-repellent fabric comes in a variety of designs, which you can check on the link below.
Proper fit
Stretch the collar to a size that can easily slip over your puppy’s head. Once on, use the slider to adjust it to the right size. It should be tight enough that you can still fit one or two fingers under the collar. Attach the leash to the D-ring. Before removing the collar, loosen it again using the size-adjusting slider.
The Galgina label should touch the dog’s neck. If the label is caught between two layers of the collar, the collar is put on incorrectly.

Other options
The same type of collar can also be made in other sizes (custom-made) and different widths, with slight modifications (such as lining). More information can be found in the post Non-Tightening Collar.
If your puppy tends to slip out of collars during walks or is very timid, it’s better to choose a martingale collar, which offers more safety. However, due to growth, it will need to be replaced more frequently.
Care
Ensure regular maintenance of the product to keep it clean and safe.
